This is typically achieved by re-pitching it with champagne yeast and/or using freeze-distillation techniques. I guess everyone has their own opinion when it comes to ABV, but a beer with 55% ABV is too much for me to handle!

#2) Beer May Reduce Risk of Cancer

Beer gets a bad wrap for its negative effects on one’s health, but a recent study performed by Japanese researchers found a direct link between beer consumption and reduced rates of cancer. It’s still too early to conclusively say that drinking beer will lower your risk of cancer, but this is certainly good news to those who enjoy an occasional, or frequent, beer.

#3) Most Expensive Beer Costs $1,000

Would you spend $1,000 on a single bottle of beer? That’s how much the world’s most expensive brew costs. Sold exclusively in London’s Bierdrome bar, the Vielle Bon Secours holds the title for the priciest brew in the world. With a price tag of a cool grand, you would expect this come with a free iPad or something, but unfortunately customers only get a single bottle of beer. And we can’t attest to its quality, as we’re not willing to spend $1,000 on beer.

#4) Beer Dates Back To 3,500-To-3,100 BC

While no one knows who exactly is responsible for brewing the world’s first beer, or when they did it, historians believe it occurred sometime around 3,500 to 3,100 BC in the mountainous region of western Iran. It was most likely first used during religious ceremonies, but the joyous effects of beer soon expanded into recreational use as well.

Here’s a shocking fact that will probably surprise you: beer is mostly water. While the exact percentage varies depending on how it’s brewed, a typical beer is comprised of approximately 97% water!
